Why would God even allow death?
A death in the family gives us (both sides of the veil) a better appreciation for who we all are, or have been and the love that we feel and/or have felt. It is thus meant to help us open our hearts.
I have found that "death" of my beloved has been a heart opening, (inner) eye opening and mind opening experience. And I believe this experience is possible for all of us who survive "death" (and we all do, on both sides of the veil), whether that death seemingly comes through wars, sickness, "accident" or whatever. How you live your life and how you perceive it is all in your frame of mind.
Just because my wife died does not mean that my life died! And she isn't really dead, she just moved to a different vibrational realm, from our physical world, into the worlds of mind, emotions and expanded love, what many call spirituality ... and science calls a quantum existence.
A light and easy reading novel to help expand your horizons
Combining southern warmth with unabashed emotion and side-splitting hilarity, Fannie Flagg takes readers back to Elmwood Springs, Missouri, where the most unlikely and surprising experiences of the high-spirited Elner Shimfissle inspire a town to ponder the age-old question: "What is life all about, anyway?"
It's the strangest thing. One minute Elner is up in her tree, picking figs, and the next thing she knows she is off on an adventure she never dreamed of, running into people she never in a million years expected to meet. Meanwhile, back in Elmwood Springs, Elner's high-strung niece Norma faints and winds up in bed with a cold cloth on her head; Elner's neighbor Verbena rushes immediately to the Bible; her truck driver friend, Luther Griggs, runs his eighteen-wheeler into a ditch-and the entire town is thrown for a loop.
In this comedy-mystery, those near and dear to Elner discover something wonderful—and so will Fannie Flagg's lucky readers.

The fived people you meet in Heaven
by Mitch Albom
"All endings are also beginnings.
We just don't know it at the time"
This is a light and lively novel to help you think outside the boxes others have built.
Eddie is a grizzled war veteran who feels trapped in a meaningless life of fixing rides at a seaside amusement\ park. As the park has changed over the years—from the Loop-the-Loop to the Pipeline Plunge—so, too, has Eddie changed, from optimistic youth to embittered old age. His days are a dull routine of work, loneliness, and regret.
Then, on his 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in a tragic accident, trying to save a little girl from a falling cart. With his final breath, he feels two small hands in his—and then nothing. He awakens in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a lush Garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people who were in it. These people may have been loved ones or distant strangers. Yet each of them changed your path forever.
One by one, Eddie's five people illuminate the unseen connections of his earthly life. As the story builds to its stunning conclusion, Eddie desperatelyseeks redemption in the still-unknown last act of his life: Was it a Heroic success or a devastating failure? The answer, which comes from the most unlikely of sources,is as inspirational as a glimpse of heaven itself. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom gives us an astoundingly original story that will change everything you've ever thought about the afterlife—and the meaning of our lives here on earth. With a timeless tale, appealing to all, this is a book that readers of fine fiction, and those who loved Tuesdays with Morrie, will treasure.
NOTE by Rev John: I found this book on Rev. Martine's book shelf 10 months after her passing. I believe that she read it before she "became aware of her next grandest adventure" and found this book useful in acquainting herself with "what might be ahead"! I hope that you find the concepts and ideas in this book useful for you and your family, too.
An easy reading novel, with a look forward and back from heaven.
The signs are many, if you believe that love never dies and neither does our soul!
Signs from Your Loved Ones
Many of us have experienced the loss of a loved one, maybe even the loss of many loved ones. When we experience people who have passed away, we may start looking for signs right away. This book will help you recognize signs you may already be seeing. Yes, the signs from your deceased loved ones may start right away after they have passed.
As you allow yourself to notice, there are many signs you will start to realize that are or were from your Loved Ones who have "passed"; things that have been happening or you have noticed for a while. Once you start writing down these "incidences", more things will happen. Even if it's a glimmer of something you can't quite explain or even something you thought you saw in the corner of your eye, write it down. Then add some notes about what else is going on during the day. You may find that the more you write, the more you can piece things together.
Your soul never dies, and neither did theirs. So, your love is forever! They are and always have been one with you and you with them.

The Afterlife of Billy Fingers
Your life is likely more sucessful than you think!
Billy's ongoing after-death communications take his sister on an unprecedented journey into the bliss and wonder of life beyond death. Billy's profound, detailed description of the mystical realms he traverses, the Beings of Light that await him, and the wisdom he receives take the reader beyond the near-death experience. Billy is, indeed, as Dr. Raymond Moody points out in his foreword, explaining the phenomenon we've known about since ancient times: an afterworld walker.
To quote Billy: "If I could give you a gift it would be to find the glory inside yourself, beyond the roles and the drama, so you can dance of the game of life with a little more rhythm, a little more abandon, a little more shaking-those-hips."
"Let Billy Fingers take you on a journey to the worlds that await you when you leave this earthly shell.
The time has come to familiarize yourself with the amazing world of Spirit and Billy is your perfect guide."

The Skeptical Mind:
My Journey to Belief
"Being raised by two atheists was, in many ways, like housing the mind in an iron box with no windows or doors. It did have its advantages. I didn’t have to think or question; my mind was closed to the two-way flow of all ideas related to life after death. On the other hand, it left me with no tools with which to explore that subject."
- Quoted from My Son and the Afterlife: Conversations from the Other Side, by Elisa Medhus M.D., (2013-10-01). (Kindle Locations 157-158). Atria Books/Beyond Words. Kindle Edition.
In this book, you will finds a "cooks tour" of the many, or at least the most wondered about, aspects of what many call "the other side", heaven", or "beyond the veil", as this well trained MD talks with psychics and mediums and then becomes convinced that "a continued existence in a life after death is for real".
I suggest that if you are curious, you should read it for yourself and see if you find any seeds of truth in it.
